Mr Rao is the founder of Sravanthi Group and the Chairman of Sravanthi Energy Private Ltd. A results driven professional with around 30 years of experience in the Core Sectors, Viz Cement, Fertiliser, Steel and power sectors. He holds a strong track record of success in spearheading and implementing several Power Projects across India. Prior to establishing Sravanthi Group, Mr Rao was the Joint Managing Director of Lanco Infratech Ltd, New Delhi where he was instrumental in crafting the success of the Group by developing Power vertical with aggregate capacity of over 12,000 MW particularly in Coal, Gas, Hydro and Wind power. Commercially astute, he has been a pioneer in “competitive bidding” and created implementation benchmarks in the industry while securing contracts. He successfully established the power trading company for Lanco Infratech and is well networked with State Power Utilities for sale of merchant power. He held Director Positions with 24 Group Companies of Lanco Infratech and carved a niche for the Group in the industry under his strong leadership.

Highly collaborative and versatile in the field, Mr Rao has won accolades for establishment of Steel, Pig Iron, Cement, Foundry & Ductile Iron Pipe and Power Plants during his stint in Lanco and his association with Tata Korf Engineering Services and Coromandel Fertilisers limited. He graduated in Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) in 1987.
